Decorated Cactus

I drove around trying to find some Christmas lights to take photos of. Didn't really find anything good. Pastor Jamie mentioned how odd it was that we decorate cacti in this neck of the woods. Sure enough...

Chihuly Exhibit Reservation

I made my reservation last night to see the Chihuly exhibit at the Desert Botanical Gardens. My neighbor told me about this a couple of weeks ago and Channel 3 showed the exhibit from the air at dusk and it looks stunning.

On Monday, December 15th, I'm going to take my new 85mm 1.2 lens and see if I can't get some stunning night shots. Should be simply beautiful!!

Here the link to the Desert Botanical Garden's website and the exhibit information:

Sky on FIRE!!

I ran from the admin building trying to get back to my office and my camera before the light changed to much. Since I was at work and had limited angles, this was all I could capture. No color adjustments were done. And people say there is no God!

Competition over, now the wait begins.

The competition ended with me having a total of 64 votes. Now the results are in the judges hands. There are three of them and they will be deciding the final four. As I told you, it is not all based on votes. I appreciate all of you who took the time to register and place their vote for me.

I now have a 10-day wait to find out if I have made the top four. I was fine until I saw the clock click down. Yes, I was on the Photrade website as it counted down. Now I am nervous as all get out. There is so much I want to learn about shooting better images and would love to have the opportunity to learn from the pro's.

I will post the results, win or not, here at the end of next week.

Thanks again.

Contest is down to the wire...

The competition I entered my lighting photo in ends tonight at 10pm (AZ time).

I have fallen into second place with 61 votes. There are four winning photos, and judges will be making the final decisions. It is not all based votes.

If you would still like to place a vote, you still have time.

Again, here's how you go about it:

When you click on the link below, you will need to register and join the contests before you can place your vote for me.

Once you have registered and joined the contest, click on the link below again,
- then go to "SUBMISSIONS",
- and you will see a box on the right that says "MOST RECENT". Click that and select "MOST VOTED FOR". There you will see my photo in the top row.

Thanks to all of you who have encouraged me during this competition. I appreciate your support.

Christmas

I'm working on Christmas program at church. This was one of the images I took this evening. I'm excited at how the rest of them will turn out. What do you think??
