Death of a teacher.

A week ago, on September 28, 2008, it was reported that the Hubble Telescope has ceased sending its amazing images to earth.

Whenever I look at the images this "teacher" has sent back, I stand in awe and wonder of our Creator God.

It has broken down in the past and they have always been able to repair it. However, this might not be the case this time.

NASA says it is not the end of Hubble, but they have admitted that they do not know how to repair the current issue and have never trained for this type of breakdown. So much so that they have suspended a shuttle launch with repair parts.

You can read more of the news report HERE.

Hubble was the first that gave us a glimpse into areas that had never been seen by human eyes. Just as Christopher Columbus had the Santa Maria as his flagship for the journey to the New World, Hubble was the first, but not the last.

In 2013, a new telescope is scheduled to be launched. The next generation of space telescopes is called the "James Webb". Its namesake, James Webb, was in charge of NASA from 1961 to 1968.

This new space telescope is expected to be able to see further into the distance than Hubble could.

The images we saw from Hubble blew us away. I can't image what the images of the "Webb Telescope" will be like. I can't wait!
